Sales Associate:

Provides customer assistance in selecting and purchasing merchandise. Informs customer and answers questions on stores products and services. Works a register to finalize transactions with customer. Assists with merchandise restock and maintains store organization and cleanliness. Performs any other tasks assigned by the shift manager to ensure the smooth operation of store location.
Minimum requirements: Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to function well with co-workers.

Shift Manager:

Shift Managers are responsible for the store and employees working during their specific shift. Must be able to open or close store location and maintain and balance cash drawer at the end of each day. Will regularly communicate with store manager regarding sales issues and problems.
Minimum requirements: High school diploma. Experience managing employees. The ability to learn about the goods and services provided by Corolla Surf Shop.

Marketing Assistant/Intern:

This position is for a person studying, interested, or experienced in business marketing. Responsibilities would include planning special events, distributing information about products and services to places accessible for potential customers, networking with local business to cross advertise, gathering data and producing reports to compile an advertising plan for future seasons, and working with the Marketing Director on various assignments. This may be a part time position/internship that coincides with a sales position with Corolla Surf Shop.
Minimum requirements: High school diploma. Strong interpersonal skills. Reliable transportation. Some experience with business marketing, through past work or college courses previously completed.

Computer Technician/ IT Specialist:

Repairs computer equipment, conducts diagnostic tests to determine repairs needed, and makes necessary repairs on a timely basis. Communicates with management as necessary to determine problems areas and repairs needed, and to inform management of new technology and systems available for implementation. This may be a part time position/internship that coincides with a sales position with Corolla Surf Shop.
Minimum requirements: Must have knowledge of a variety of computer systems, hardware, and software.

Photographer:

Works directly with the surf school to photograph students during surfing lessons. Meets surf school at store location before lesson, follows instructors to the beach to photograph lesson, returns to store location to show students and families the pictures, and finalizes the sale of photographs to customers. This is a part time position that will coincide with a sales position in Corolla Surf Shop.
Minimum requirements: Experience with taking pictures and general use of a camera. Must have strong customer service skills and a positive attitude. Ownership of a digital SRL camera and telephoto lens preferred but not required.

Inventory Assistant:

A great position for anyone who’s fashion-forward or organized, or would enjoy working around clothes in a fun and laid-back office environment. The inventory assistant will help the inventory manager process and distribute all new merchandise; ranging from softgoods like apparel, swimwear and sunglasses to hardgoods like surfboards and skateboards. Responsibilities include receiving incoming deliveries, processing/tagging the items received, and delivering them to the stores. The inventory assistant will also be asked to update inventory spreadsheets, maintain the organization of buying records, maintain a clean and orderly office, and help with any inventory related task that ensures the smooth operation of the inventory office.
Minimum requirements: Applicants must have a strong attention to detail, general computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Current college students or college graduates are preferred. Organizational skills are also preferred, but if you don’t have them, you will learn quickly!
Note: This job does involve hauling boxes into an office, so you must be willing and able to lift upwards of 25 pounds. (Don’t be scared though, two very petite girls worked in the office last year and were just fine.)

Surf Instructor:

A highly coveted position, the surf instructor teaches children and adults how to surf. This job requires a high level of physical fitness outdoors, confidence in water, and responsibility for the safety of other human beings.
Minimum requirements: The ideal candidate will be CPR and lifeguard certified, familiar with the ocean and ocean conditions, have an outgoing personality, a positive attitude and lots of patience. Must be able to surf, swim, show up on time and be a team player. This is a part-time position that can coincide with a part-time sales or inventory position through Corolla Surf Shop, and candidates should be able to work from early June through early September.
