There was only one sandbar working along the first three miles on the 4×4 this morning. This spot is about a mile north of the north beach access ramp, and it is amongst the biggest group of visible tree stumps on the beach. If you have driven along the 4×4 beach, you have probably noticed these cyprus tree stumps. A maritime forest existed on the beach where we set down our beach chairs and surfboards long before any houses or cars claimed their place. The past couple of summers the best sandbar on the 4×4 beach has been by this large group of stumps. However, surfing there can be tricky due to the parking restrictions in the first mile and a half. So plan on taking a jog if it’s looking good.
